Hello, I’m Greg, and my journey began in the arid landscapes of Maricopa, Arizona, where the sun’s relentless heat mirrored the intensity of the life ahead of me. Born into a world that would quickly become foreign, I was adopted at birth and whisked away to the Northeast, where the cold winters would come to define a different kind of harshness. Growing up, I never truly embraced the systems that surrounded me, particularly the educational institutions that seemed to stifle rather than nurture. From a young age, I felt a calling to something greater, a purpose that transcended the confines of the classroom and the expectations of those around me. This disconnect from the norm made me an outsider, an outcast in a world that valued conformity above all else. It was a role I wore with a mix of pride and pain, knowing that it was a necessary step in finding my true path.
My life took a dramatic turn when I decided to leave the structured world of high school behind. In my senior year, I made the bold decision to drop out, choosing instead to pursue my GED through Exeter Adult Education. This choice was not an easy one, but it was a necessary step in reclaiming control over my destiny and following my path. It was around this time that I was thrown into the military which was a good experience but would not do it again if given the opportunity, I valued the knowledge and experience I received. In 2018, I enlisted, embarking on an eight-year journey that would take me overseas to Kuwait and Iraq. The military provided me with a sense of structure and purpose, while also challenging me to grow in ways I never thought possible. It was during these years that I honed my skills in problem-solving and hands-on work, skills that would serve me well in the years to come.
Returning from my military service, I found myself at a crossroads. I realized that the material possessions I had accumulated over the years were not bringing me the happiness I sought. I also entered a dark state of stagnation and began to consume large quantities of alcohol as well as going days without sleep. This epiphany led me to embark on a journey of downsizing, shedding the excess and embracing a more minimalist lifestyle as well as looking for a more beneficial purpose to my life. The goal was to become more mobile, to free myself from the physical constraints that had once defined me. This shift in perspective allowed me to focus on what truly mattered: the connections I made with others and the impact I could have on the world around me. It was a transformative period, one that taught me the value of simplicity and the power of intentional living.
As I continued to explore my newfound freedom, I discovered a passion for capturing the essence of the world through photography and video. These mediums became my voice, allowing me to express the complex truths I saw around me. I also delved into the world of Reiki, a practice that resonated deeply with my belief in the interconnectedness of all things. Through these pursuits, I found a way to explain the nature of our world to those who were willing to listen. It was a labor of love, a way to share my unique perspective and, in doing so, to make a difference in the lives of others. Each photo, each video, each Reiki session was a step towards a greater understanding, a bridge between the seen and the unseen.
Today, I stand at the intersection of my past and my future, guided by the lessons I’ve learned and the experiences I’ve had. I am driven by a desire to share my story, to inspire others to question the status quo and to seek out their own paths. My journey has been one of self-discovery and growth, a testament to the power of embracing one’s uniqueness and the courage to forge one’s own way. As I continue to navigate the complexities of life, I remain committed to using my skills and passions to make a positive impact, to connect with others, and to contribute to a world that is constantly evolving.
